The Institute of Public Economics at University of Graz is looking for a PhD-student who is interested in the economic aspects of Artificial Intelligence and/or Political Economy. As Ph.D. student, you will write a dissertation in the field of Public Economics and collaborate in research projects at the Institute of Public Economics. You will be part of the Ph.D. student community at the Department of Economics at University of Graz and receive close supervision to enable you to do research at the research frontier on highly relevent topics.
**Your Responsibilities:**
* Writing a dissertation at the University of Graz in the field of Public Economics
* Collaboration in research projects of the Institute of Public Economics
* Teaching courses independently and assisting in teaching and examination tasks
* Supervision of students
* Collaboration in organizational, administrative and evaluation tasks
**Your Profile:**
* Completed diploma or master's degree in the field of Economics, Business Mathematics, Mathematics or another quantitative/mathematically oriented field of study
* Research interests in the economic implications of artificial intelligence and/or in political economy
* Excellent German and English skills, both written and spoken
* Very good IT skills
* Prior knowledge of LaTeX, Mathematica, ideally also Stata, or high willingness to learn these.
* Interest in quantitative research methods
* Very good knowledge of economic theory as well as interest in developing economic models.
* Knowledge of empirical research methods is an advantage
* Delight in working scientifically and in dealing with students
* Strong teamwork and organisational skills
