The Division of Pharmaceutical Technology and Biopharmaceutics (Dept. of Pharmaceutical Sciences) have an open position for motivated postdoctoral candidates to pursue research in the field of pulmonary drug delivery of anti-infectives. The position is limited to a maximal period 9 months.
The position is vacant for the period of absence of a member of staff.
**Duration of employment:** 9 month/s
Extent of Employment: 40 hours/week
Job grading in accordance with collective bargaining agreement: §48 VwGr. B1 lit. b (postdoc) with relevant work experience determining the assignment to a particular salary grade.
Job Description:
Responsibilities: Collaboration in ongoing and future research projects in the area of Pharmaceutical Technology and Biopharmaceutics, with a special emphasis on the pulmonary drug delivery of antibiotics, including pharmacokinetic and toxicological evaluation. Support in the organisation and management of cell culture labs, within the group of Prof. Lea Ann Dailey. Pursuit of independent research in the area of pulmonary drug delivery of anti-infectives. Publications in international peer-reviewed journals. Participation in the submission of research funding applications. Teaching according to requirements set by the University of Vienna. Administrative tasks.
Profile:
PhD in the field of pharmaceutical, biological or chemical sciences, or planned PhD completion within the next six months - Professional and methodological expertise in the preparation and characterisation of inhaled formulations and nanomedicines. Experience working with BSL-category 2 microorganisms is required in addition to experience designing and performing in vivo pharmacokinetic and toxicology studies of anti-infectives following pulmonary, intravenous and oral administration. FELASA certification is a requirement. Publications in international peer-reviewed journals -Supervision of Masters and Diploma students- Teaching experience in pharmaceutical technology courses - Excellent command of written and spoken English - Ability to work in teams - Knowledge of university structures and processes.
Experience in managing projects within a larger research consortium, experience with lab management.
