Do you have a strong interest in Systems Biology and the relevance of the Gut Microbiome in health and disease?
Then come join our team as a Postdoctoral Fellow in the laboratory of Manuela Schmidt, University of Vienna, Austria.
Our translational research focuses on the molecular underpinnings of painful pathologies in vertebrates and on the dynamics of gut microbiota function in the context of diseases. In particular, we have set up an integrated workflow using advanced omics methods, such as metaproteomics and AI-based multi-dimensional data analysis.
We seek candidates having successfully completed their PhD. Candidates who have strong expertise in proteomics, bioinformatics, and mouse disease models are especially encouraged to apply.
Above all, we seek a skilled and dedicated person, who enjoys science and shares our passion for research!
Our research group is embedded in the Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Vienna. Thus, we benefit from close interactions with experts in chemical medicine, bioinformatics, drug screening, and systems biology. We offer a full-time contract funded by the FWF (Austrian Science Fund) for 3 years.
We provide opportunities for
* highly relevant research on the functional impact of the gut microbiome in health and disease
* cutting-edge, interdisciplinary, and collaborative research
* the development of own projects in the context of microbiota studies
* professional development including grant writing, advancing in academia, and leadership skills offered by the University of Vienna.
We embrace diversity and encourage international candidates to apply. The University of Vienna and our lab is committed to supporting women in science and especially encourages them to apply.
