## What's the role?
As part of our interdisciplinary battery research team, you will work closely with your colleagues from research and from product development. You will be responsible to bridge the gap between the detailed understanding of the cells and the application in our tools by understanding both the battery technology and the whole system. By actively working on the next generation of our battery operating strategies, you will create the basis for the next generation of high-performance battery solutions and thus contribute to continuously improving out cordless systems.

## What does the role involve?
In this challenging position, you will work at the interface between battery research and battery development. You will be responsible to explore and evaluate new ways to improve the way our batteries are managed. With this, you will get the opportunity to lead your own research and development projects in close collaboration with our internal and external partners.
In addition, you will contribute to crafting our research and technology agenda for the years to come. Based on your experience in battery technology, you will shape our future and contribute to our overall success in the areas of battery management, operating strategies, system design, and battery modeling and simulation. You will have the unique opportunity to participate in all stages of battery technology development at Hilti
Internal consulting and support of the development department through your expertise in battery technology are also part of your tasks.

## What you need is:
* Completed degree (Diploma, Master) in electrical engineering
* Minimum 5 years working experience in the field of battery technology, or a PhD/Doctorate and 3 years of working experience
* Work experience in an industrial environment is a must
* Fist experience in leading divers (project-) teams is preferred
* Experience in Li-ion battery technology (modeling, operating strategies, battery management systems)
* Experience in cell/battery testing and data analysis with Matlab
* Good understanding of state-of-the-art battery technology (industrial cell types) and its use in electrical systems (battery system design, drive chain, charger, thermal management)
* Enthusiasm for creative, interdisciplinary teamwork and independent work
* Curiosity, ambition, and a high degree of goal orientation
* Excellent knowledge of English, knowledge of German preferred
