Eaton's Internet of Things (IoT) Center of Excellence is currently seeking a Team Lead of UI Platforms to join our organization! This position is based at our Moon Township, PA facility and has flexibility for remote work for candidates living more than 50 miles outside of Moon Township, PA.

Position Overview:

The Team Lead for UI Platforms is responsible for ensuring the success of our world-class design system, Brightlayer UI. The ideal candidate is fluent in front-end development and capable of guiding our team of developers and designers as they build the libraries and tools that are used by other development teams across Eaton. Experience with User Experience, Design Thinking, and the Internet of Things (IoT) is a plus.

In this role you will:
* Work closely with Business Leaders, Project Managers, Product Teams, and other stakeholders to define requirements, create roadmaps, manage the platform backlog, prioritize work, and continuously deliver new features and improvements on a regular cadence.
* Drive organizational maturity through exceptional collaboration, communication, and execution while managing the day-to-day operations of the Brightlayer UI team, ensuring focus on and execution against top priorities, and that the work of all team members is on-time, on-budget, and of the highest quality.
* Provide feedback to developers, testers, and architects on their work through detailed code reviews, pair-programming, mentoring, etc.
* Support product development teams by answering questions, troubleshooting issues, soliciting enhancement requests, communicating platform updates, and serving as the technical point of contact for all things Brightlayer UI.
* Develop production-quality, re-usable components, workflows, and code examples across a variety of front-end technologies.
* Develop internal and external tools to improve team productivity and standardization.
* Write unit and functional tests to evaluate and maintain the quality of all platform code.
* Write clear and informative documentation for the platform and its resources.
* Contribute to open-source libraries.
* Stay current with latest trends and best practices by conducting research and exploring upcoming technology developments.

Qualifications

Required (Basic) Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution or a minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in the software industry developing enterprise grade web and mobile applications.
* Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future.

Preferred Qualifications:
* Master's degree in Computer Science or Electrical, Computer or Software Engineering from an accredited institution.
* Demonstrated experience leading initiatives either in a Project Management, Team Lead or supervisory capacity.
* Experience developing or using a design system to guide development.
* Experience developing for open source.
* Experience with CI/CD, DevOps, and Cybersecurity.

Position Criteria:
* Expert skills in at least one modern JavaScript framework (Angular, React).
* Familiarity with hybrid mobile application development (React Native, Ionic).
* Extensive experience utilizing best practices in software engineering.
* Experience with Git & GitHub, including the use of submodules.
* Solid understanding of software design principles, algorithms, data structures, and multithreading concepts.
* Extensive experience with Agile development methodologies and concepts.
* Familiarity with Material Design and it's open-source implementations.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to effectively explain and present technical concepts.
* Abreast of upcoming software development/engineering tools, trends, and methodologies.

Eaton provides a competitive total rewards package commensurate with applicable skills, knowledge, and experience and consistent with internal and external market practices. The annual salary range for this role is $96,000 - $132,000 a year.
