Job Responsibilities

Lam Research is seeking Instructional Designers who have experience developing curriculum for instructor-led training on technical equipment. Be an integral part of the Technical Training Virtual Reality team! Using your skill-sets of CAD model design and mechanical engineering, help us develop and implement innovative, leading-edge training experiences for our Lam Research work force. You will design, program and implement learning scenarios in a mixed reality environment that will focus primarily on user interactions, both self-paced and collaborative, in a virtual semiconductor training lab environment.

Job Requirements:
* Work with the VR Design Specialist and subject-matter experts from the Technical Training organization to develop accurate and scalable mixed reality scenarios
* Work with the computer-aided engineering group to develop scalable, VR-ready models based on our internal CAD equipment models
* Develop a successful and obtainable workflow from the CAD environment to the final VR-based project
* Review and make quarterly updates of existing VR modules to ensure accuracy
* Establish and maintain a library of VR-ready models and re-usable VR-specific code and scenes
* Establish recommended mixed reality toolsets and best-known methods for future-proofing our development efforts
* Troubleshoot VR hardware/software end-user issues both remotely and in the classroom
* Provide guidance and training to other internal and off-shore VR developers

Other Job Responsibilities

* Converting existing training programs towards blended learning curriculum
* Providing quality assurance / control on design plans and instructional materials
* Creating professional level presentation materials
* Regularly participating in meetings requiring close interactions with various subject matter experts
* Performing needs and/or gap analysis to determine training needs

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum a technical college degree (HTL mechanical engineering or mechatronic) or a related field (Game Design), from an accredited institute, college or university.

Instead of any degree the following experience will also be considered:
* 3 years of experience in the semiconductor industry working on large technical equipment performing standardized Instructional Systems Design
* Comprehensive knowledge of methods and possess expertise in developing courseware for a variety of delivery methods including instructor-led training, web-based training and mixed-media training.

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience creating and manipulating large CAD models in Siemens NX and/or Creo software environments
* Strong knowledge of systems level C++/C# /JavaScript programming
* Experience developing instructional-based games in Unity or Unreal software platforms
* Expert knowledge of VR hardware and software configurations and standards. Knowledge of Steam and Windows Mixed Reality HMDs a plus
* Knowledge of Lua scripting a plus
* Strong visual and interaction skills

This position is subject to the Collective Bargaining Agreement for Employees in the Metaltechnology Industries, occupation group: E. The minimum annual salary for the position (m/f/d) is 37.555,56 EUR gross based on a full-time employment. A higher payment is negotiable depending on expertise and skills.
