Marketing Manager

Marketing Manager | MCI Group | Events

*This position can be remote but local candidate preferred*

Job Objective

This position serves as a member of the Marketing team within the Strategic Events, Meetings & Incentives (SEMI) business unit of MCI USA. The Marketing Manager will lead the strategic marketing direction of the business unit, as well as marketing specific to the OCEANS conference and other SEMI client events where marketing is part of the scope of work. The Marketing Manager engages in many aspects of marketing, including campaign strategy, content and email creation, social media, website management, public relations, and marketing performance analysis, and specifically as it relates to the marketing of events, including registration and housing.

Duties & Responsibilities

Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:

SEMI Business Unit Marketing:
* Create and execute comprehensive and strategic multi-channel marketing plans for the MCI USA SEMI events division, supporting both association and corporate audiences.
* Collaborate across departments with subject matter experts to create proposals and respond to Requests for Proposals.
* Provide marketing support for SEMI leadership presentations.
* Oversee internal team building activities.

Client Event Marketing:
* Create and execute comprehensive and strategic multi-channel marketing plans for MCI USA SEMI client events-for both attendee acquisition and sponsorship sales.
* Coordinate the execution of marketing plans with the assistance of SEMI marketing team members across various channels, including e-blasts, publications, blogs, websites, social media, public relations, media and corporate partnerships, etc.
* Collaborate with staff in multiple departments to develop and implement communication strategies and shape messaging across event initiatives and media to reach a variety of audiences.
* Work with event sales team to create and send exhibitor outreach and create collateral.
* Effectively manage scheduling of marketing projects.
* Write and edit content for email blasts, digital ads, blogs, print advertisements, marketing collateral, social media posts, websites, etc.
* Prepare budgets for marketing projects.
* Participate in committee meetings as lead staff liaison.
* Act as liaison with client volunteers regarding marketing activities.
* Prepare marketing analysis reports.
* Participate in client and team meetings and prepare presentations when necessary.
* Monitor budgets by comparing and analyzing actual results with plans and forecasts.
* Maintains company value and relationships with client organizations.

Job Requirements

Beyond a passion for marketing and 5+ years of experience in developing and executing integrated marketing strategies, preferably for events and/or not-for-profit organizations, the position requires:

* A degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Creative Writing, or Business Communications is preferred, but not required.
* Excellent written and oral communication skills.
* Strong customer service skills.
* Extensive knowledge of Web and social media.
* Experience in digital content creation and graphic design are a plus.
* Working knowledge of design programs, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, email marketing tools, databases, etc.
* Must have strong organizational and multi-project management skills.
