SAP's global Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) organization in the Board area Finance & Administration consolidates the policies, processes, communication, reporting, and organizational structures of all GRC-related activities. The integrated GRC function focuses on increasing the added business value of governance, risk, and compliance processes at SAP through the utilization of synergies and high-quality business services, without compromising on transparency and compliance. The GRC mandate includes Enterprise Risk Management,

Global Security and Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) compliance.


The GRC Risk Manager (f/m) for SAP CEE is the main point of contact for all matters to do with risk and risk management in the CEE region and the CEE Market Units with a strong focus on customer related activities such as Cloud and License sales, Field Service opportunity and project management. The GRC Risk Manager (f/m) has primary responsibility for the ongoing risk management practice in the CEE region and associated Market Units in accordance with GRC Risk Management model, policy, and framework. The candidate will furthermore be GRC’s central point of expertise for all trade sanction related risks within the CEE and CIS region. The individual must be able to operate in a multi-cultural, multi-language environment where they will challenge and advise Line of Business Managers, including Market Unit Executive Officers (i.e. MD, CFO, Head of Field Services etc.).


In addition to the above, the CEE & CEE Risk Manager reports into the MEE CIS & CEE GRC Officer, and as such forms part of the operational and strategic decision making team in MEE and CIS & CEE GRC.


Regional and local organizations working in risk management, security and SOX compliance areas report directly into the global GRC organization. There is also a strong dotted reporting line to the Lines of Business, including Finance and Field Services.



  • Ensure adherence to global risk management processes, guideline, and policy.
  • Act as GRC’s central point of expertise for all trade sanction related risks within the CEE and CIS region.
  • Analyze SAP’s strategy and investment approach for all CEE and CIS market units (incl. legal, tax, general and operational risks) to, together with the business, identify associated risks, develop adequate mitigations and continuously monitor the progress of mitigation actions (including country risk reporting).
  • Prepare and deliver presentations on strategic topics to Market Unit and GRC management
  • Be a trusted advisor to the business on GRC matters and conduct ad-hoc problem-solving activities
  • Provide high quality services to the business to ensure that risks are properly identified and managed.
  • Plan, organize, execute, and coordinate risk management activities.
  • Conduct risk assessments for all risk relevant activities with focus on the sales and consulting Lines of Business, as well as country and Business Unit risk assessments for the local management team, Special focus on Market Unit risk management for the CEE Market Units.
  • Facilitate cross unit collaboration in risk management and risk mitigation
  • Manage ongoing communication, issue resolution and information-sharing with all relevant risk management stakeholders to ensure complete, integrated, and accurate risk handling and risk reporting
  • Prepare risk reports, follow up pro-actively on uncertainties, and open issues leveraging the Global Risk Management network
  • Promote awareness of risk management best practices throughout the organization
  • Provide training in risk management methodology, tools, and applications
  • Build and maintain partnerships with key internal decision makers, and with external risk and security management practitioners.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of our risk management framework (model, processes, tools etc.)



  • A deep understanding of business (Sales, Consulting, Custom Development),
  • Deep understanding of Trade Sanction management and the assessment of their impact on SAP’s business processes,
  • Solid knowledge of SAP products including Business Suite, industry solutions, SAP HANA, Mobility, Cloud, and database products,
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills at executive level, and the ability to prepare and present reports with recommendations for management review,
  • Hands-on experience working in virtual teams
  • The ideal candidate provides a broad experience in working in intercultural teams has built a strong network within and outside the organization throughout various Lines of Business and has a good knowledge of the local organization.
  • A good understanding of how risk management is applied in the various business areas and processes is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to assess relevance of information, consolidate, and prioritize to finally derive conclusions in a persuasive manner
  • Open, friendly, and creative personality with a service-oriented professional attitude
  • Productive, motivational, and inspiring
  • Fluent written and spoken German and English is a requirement. Knowledge of Russian and/or CEE regional languages are a plus.
  • Drive and focus on results in a complex, politically sensitive environment  
  • Experience in formulating strategy and monitoring strategy execution, from both business and financial performance perspective
  • Understanding of how risk management is applied in the various business areas and processes



  • MBA or Masters’ degree in Economics / Business Administration is desirable
  • Minimum 2 years business experience, for example in Corporate Functions, Sales, Consulting, Custom Development, Program Management, Product Management or similar.
  • Ideally experience in risk management, and a proven solid understanding of the associated processes, methods, and tools.
  • Experienced in building a strong network within an organization.
  • Experience with SAP product implementations and project standards are an advantage.
  • Experience with the SAP GRC 10.0 application preferred but not a must.
  • Experience in security management and SOX compliance preferred but not a must.


As a competitive employer, apart from generous added benefits, we also offer a basic salary which is based on the current "Collective agreement for employees in the services sector within the automatic data processing and information technology sector" with a minimum of 2.789,00 Euro as a gross salary per month on the basis of full-time employment. An additional salary is calculated according to qualifications and appropriate work experience. In addition to the basic salary we also offer an annual performance based bonus system.
