Carinthian Tech Research AG is an industrially oriented competence center dealing with intelligent sensors. We are the biggest non-university research & development center in southern Austria. We receive orders from industrial partners as well as from small and medium-sized companies in the fields of optical systems engineering, spectral imaging, electromagnetic sensor systems, optical assessment of processes and quality, industrialized imaging and laser development.
In this thesis a novel spray coating process shall be developed and tested based on a new nozzle design. The spray coating process is used for the lithography of a 3D topology during production of MEMS components and packages. Existing solutions suffer from insufficient homogeneity and long process time. CTR develops a new nozzle that significally improves these limitations.
The aim of the thesis is to verify and optimize the spray nozzle in experiment. The work starts with the definition and building the test setup as well as the software programming using LabView. Subsequently test runs will be performed and analyzed which will give important feedback to the CFD simulation. Optimization includes parameters studies and geometrical variation studies.
We are seeking for personalities owning the requested expert knowledge, dedicated commitment, communication skills and the drive to push the related research topic on by her/his thesis. Ideally you are student in the field of mechatronics, equipment engineering, mechanical engineering with CFD focus or of a similar field. Knowledge and experience concerning bare die handling and working procedures in a clean room environment is needed.
