The primary function of the Quality Engineer is the coordination of product-quality MCBs and RCBOs within the production network, supporting the PDD Product Quality in the focus of quality problem solving, thermal test data management of MCB’s and RCBO’s. Also team member (quality role) for new product development (NPD) and implementation and strategic transition projects (STP) as well as test plan development and maintenance. Furthermore he is supporting complaint management with analysis of customer complaints and reporting as well as CAPA implementation common with manufacturing engineering, production and R&D.
Interface between production network: Collaborates within the production network Product Line MCBs (IEC) and R&D and Manufacturing Engineering in quality issues (Problem Solving & Improvement). Develops and maintains production supporting quality system documents and agreements. Eaton Six Sigma-tool knowledge & application (e.g. Process MAP, PFMEA, Control-plan, MSA, etc.).
Drives and maintains the test planning for existing and new products for MCB and RCBO product group. Supports an efficient Product Audit process to provide evidence for the fulfillment of legal and standards requirements.
Supports successfully the implementation of new products supporting various projects, e.g. R&D and market relevant as well as STP transition projects of MCB & RCBO products.
Supports the Complaint Management (Analyze, Reporting and Corrective & Improvement process) as well as driving Production network alert system FM’s/8D’s and coordination of Quality projects as an outcome of this process.
Coordination and test data management of all thermal tripping devices in production network (Final tester and Quality equipment => WAZ, thermal tripping time, temperature compensation, identification code for all final testers in PL MCB IEC) in cooperation with R&D and production and testing device laboratory (Oracle Data Base). Expert for regulations and standards for thermal testing (e.g. EN60898, IEC, UL…).
New Test equipment release and calibration & MSA of MCB &/ RCBO test equipment => production final tester and thermal & WAZ Test equipment for Quality.
Basic Qualifications (Including Educational Requirements)
Electrical engineering or other related technical discipline or equivalent experience
Six Sigma Training or certification is preferable
Minimum of three years experience in Quality Assurance preferable
Very good communication and presentation skills
English and German fluently (written and spoken form)
Co-lead or participation in quality planning for product or process development activity
Demonstrate experience in inspection and testing activities
Knowledge in product safety and conformity standards and regulations (e.g. IEC, EN, UL/CSA and EC directives) and understanding of national laws to drive legal compliance
Understanding manufacturing technologies and processes
Understanding customer and market requirements
Thinks in a creative manner and is concurrently focused on problem solving
Basic knowledge in standards for management systems e.g. ISO 9001, ISO 14001 und OHSAS 18001) preferable
Depending on the qualification we offer for this position a compensation in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement of the electrical and electronics industry in the respective employment group taking into account the employment group years, willingness to overpay depending on experience and qualifications.
